As many of you probably know, Wappu is here again! And what better way to welcome it than with some Babalumni company around a tent (of sorts, mainly a rain cover with a couple of walls) of our own!

All You need to do is head for Helsinki’s Kaivopuisto somewhere between 10am and 5pm on Saturday May 1st, equipped with:
- Refreshments of choice
- Company of choice
- Wappu-y state of mind

This ought to be enough to make a party out of it!

Be there, or … don’t. All Alumni are nevertheless welcome!

The meeting will be held in the official language of the alumni association, which is Finnish, but oral translations of the agenda and the discussion are available. See you on the 5th!

The evening will consist of a bit of snacks, a bit of drinks and a ton of social interaction with Alumni from what we hope to be a wide range of BBA/BScBA classes. To facilitate the latter, we encourage you to bring an alumni friend!

The event will be held at A21 Cocktail Lounge in Annankatu 21, in central Helsinki.

Coat check as well as a welcome drink and a bit of snacks will be covered. Combined with the added bonus of getting together with all the great Mikkeli friends, there really isn’t any good reason to skip this event!

(For comparison, Alumni Beers February ’10 attracted a steady crowd of 25 people, so we strongly encourage you to reserve your place as soon as possible for the cocktail party!)

Alumni Communications 2009-2010

Dear fellow Alumni members,

as you probably know, upon the annual general meeting of the BBA/BScBA Alumni (formally known as BBA Suomi ry.) the association got into a situation where there were not enough people interested in becoming board members for 2009-2010. The Alumni board for 2008-2009 took action and called a meeting to re-write the rules to accommodate for a board with less members. These were agreed upon and it seemed like a board could be elected.

However, attempts at selecting a board have still faced the problem of too few people attending the meetings to actually be able to decide on matters, let alone form a board. We remain optimistic, nevertheless, and are about to call a meeting for the 19th of October to once again try to find enough officers for the board positions (this information will be sent out as an e-mail).

The board of 2008-2009 was relieved of their duties per normal procedure after serving their one-year term. Due to practical issues, the board has been serving as an acting board.

However, due to the subsequent international internships, studies abroad and work abroad, the remaining members of the board of 2008-2009 have not been able to arrange the traditional crayfish party this year. Nevertheless, the acting board has been striving to keep the negative effect of not having a new board at a minimum, and has, for example, decided to continue arranging the Alumni Beers events. The next occasions for this are Wednesday the 7th of October and Wednesday the 2nd of December. We gather up at the familiar location, Memphis Hesari (Kluuvikatu 8, Helsinki) at 17.30.

We hope to have a new board by the end of October and apologize for any inconvenience that the situation might have caused. In case you have any questions or comments about the situation, please contact Vesa Sironen at vesa.sironen|at|gmail.com.

Dear fellow Alumni members,

it’s official: the annual BBA/BScBA Alumni Crayfish Party takes place at Haagan VPK on the 6th of September at 18 o’clock.

Nevertheless, the party itself is much less official. Rather it is time to gather up to enjoy good food, nice drinks and – most importantly – the Baba spirit that can only be created by the Mikkeli Alumni.

The party will, of course, be at least as good as in the previous years. Also, we do our best to make it more accessible in at least two ways: there are exclusive eats for those who prefer something else over the crayfish and a wider selection of non-alcoholic drinks, in addition to the spirits, is at your disposal for the price of 28 €.

Accessibility applies except for one thing. Attendance is limited, so the seats are booked on a “first come, first served” basis. Click yourself to Contact and Registration to sign up!
